Et Cetera is a new online student magazine with a national scope, aimed at cultivating discussion and ideas that speak to the experience of being a student in Australia.
Driven by our motto ‘About students. For students. By students’, Et Cetera seeks to bring together and be a voice for all those involved in student life.
Et Cetera will cycle through four editions a year, each looking at a unique theme relevant to an aspect of student identity. News articles, collaborations, digital media, and other contributions are constantly added to the website.
Headed up by a group of student volunteers, Et Cetera was born out of a project looking at student action and university communities. Et Cetera is one of many initiatives of The Susan Wakil Fellowship, a program that seeks to empower emerging leaders to make a civic contribution in the student landscape. The Susan Wakil Fellowship generously funds Et Cetera. More information can be found here.
We encourage you to explore. Read, discuss, contribute your responses and share your ideas. Too often, complex student stories are overlooked, in favour of the brief and shallow. In a world where everything is contracted, Et Cetera will show it all.
In September 2018, Et Cetera worked with the Union of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students to launch Songlines, a bi-annual publication that aims to amplify the voice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. You can check out UATSIS’ Facebook page here.
